What are your candles made from?
Our candles are made from 100% soy wax, which is eco-friendly and vegan. We also use the highest quality fragrance oils and cotton wicks to ensure a clean, long-lasting burn.
Are your candles pet-safe?
Scented soy candles, on their own, do not pose immediate health risks to pets. Concerns with essential oils typically arise from ingestion or direct skin contact. When using our candles or other scented products, ensure they are in a large, well-ventilated room. Do your products contain harmful chemicals?
No, all of our products are free from harmful chemicals. We use non-toxic, phthalate-free fragrance oils and dye-free soy wax, making them safe for your home and family.
Are your products environmentally friendly?
Yes, sustainability is at the core of what we do. Our candles are made from soy wax, which is biodegradable and renewable. We also use recyclable packaging, and our jar return program encourages customers to recycle their candle jars for discounts on future purchases.

Yes, we offer a refill service for dough bowls! If you have a custom dough bowl you'd like to refill, bring it to us, and we'll be happy to fill it for you.
Why does my candle have a bumpy surface after burning?
This is a natural characteristic of soy wax! It won’t affect the performance of your candle—it just adds to its charm.
Can I reuse my candle jars?
Absolutely! Once your candle has burned out, clean the jar with warm, soapy water, and it’s ready for a second life.
I can't find (specific candle) in your store or online. Why?
We offer a wide selection of seasonal candles, which are available at different times throughout the year. However, due to limited availability, they may not always be in stock. Be sure to keep an eye out for future releases!
I'm allergic to _____, do your candles have this?
Our candles are made entirely from soy, and we provide a full list of product components on each product page. If you have any additional questions regarding potential allergens, please feel free to contact us at info@thescentedmarket.ca.
How does your jar return program work?
You can return your used candle jars to us, and we’ll give you a stamped card. Once 12 jars are returned, you will receive a discount on your next purchase as a thank you for recycling. Just send the jars back to our address or return them in person to one of our stores.

Candle Care

How long do your candles burn?
Our 8-oz candles have a burn time of approximately 40–50 hours, and our 16-oz candles burn for 80–100 hours, depending on usage.
How do I prevent tunnelling?
Tunnelling occurs when the wax burns unevenly. To prevent this, make sure your candle burns for at least 4 hours during the first burn. This allows the wax to melt all the way to the edges, creating an even wax pool and preventing tunnelling in the future.
What is candle burn memory, and why is it important?
Burn memory refers to how the wax melts on the first burn. If the wax doesn’t melt all the way to the edges on the initial burn, it may tunnel in subsequent burns. To maintain an even burn, we recommend a 4-hour burn time for the first use.
How long should my first burn be?
We recommend that your first burn be approximately four hours to establish the proper wax memory. This ensures an even burn for future uses and helps prevent tunnelling.

How do I place an order?
Simply browse our collection, add your favorite items to the cart, and proceed to checkout. It's that easy! You'll receive a confirmation email once your order is placed.
Where do you ship to?
We currently ship across Canada and the United States. If you're interested in international shipping, please contact us for a custom quote.
How long will my order take to arrive?
Orders are typically processed within 1-3 business days. Shipping within Canada usually takes 5-7 business days, and U.S. orders can take 7-10 business days. During peak holiday seasons, there may be additional delays.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes! We offer free shipping on orders over $150. You can also choose to shop in-store if you're nearby!
Which shipping carriers do you use?
We use multiple carriers including Canada Post, UPS, and FedEx. If you prefer not to use a specific carrier, just let us know by emailing us after placing your order.

What is a Sip & Pour event?
Our Sip & Pour events are fun, hands-on candle-making workshops where you can sip your favorite drinks and create your own custom candles. We host events at multiple locations!
How do I book a Sip & Pour event?
You can book directly online, or if you have special requests, feel free to reach out to our store team. We also offer private and group class options.
Can I bring my own container to a Sip & Pour event?
We do not currently offer a bring-your-own-container option for our Sip & Pour events, but you can choose from our wide range of vessels available at the event.

Returns & Exchanges

What is your return policy?
We accept returns within 14 days of purchase for unopened and unused items. If you received a damaged product, please reach out to us right away, and we'll provide a resolution.

Oh no! If you received a damaged item, please email us with your order number and photos of the damage. We'll take care of the issue right away!
